The Weekly Playlist!

It's been a while, so 10 songs this week. Plus, I burned a CD yesterday for the first time in a long time, so I'm in the mood to make a playlist. Let's bump some tunes.

1. Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe (Remix) - Kendrick Lamar featuring Jay-Z. Genre: Rap.
Yup, power remix with Jay-Z. Not as good as the original, but still an interesting listen. 2. X You - Avicii. Genre: House.
Avicii has done it again. Honestly, the guy can't make a bad song. Everything is a damn hit. Everything is worthy of being a damn hit. He might admit to being a trash DJ live, but as a house producer, honestly, only Swedish House is even in his league. And that still might be a stretch.

3. Boy Oh Boy - Diplo & GTA. Genre: Trap.
In class Diplo form, this song has three distinct sequences. The first part, which kicks in around 30 seconds, is easily my favorite. A Missy Elliot rap section bridges the trap bits, and the song ends with a less epic electronic spot.
4. Colossal Beasts - Swollen Members featuring Esoteric, Celph Titled & Apathy. Genre: Rap.
A total underground, battle type song. If you're a Slaughterhouse fan, you'll enjoy this as well. No chorus, just verse after verse of power.
5. Trippy - Antiserum & Mayhem. Genre: Trap.
Nothing trippy about this one, which sounds like a Lil' Wayne beat meets Baauer. There's enough variety here for it to stand on its own though, and I'd certainly recommend it.
6. Know What I'm Sayin' - Mike Jones featuring Bun B & Lil' Keke. Genre: Rap.
Ah, I've missed this one. Two eight one, three three oh, eight zero zero fo, hit Mike Jones up on the low cuz Mike Jones about to blow!
7. MetROIDS - Terravita. Genre: Dubstyle.
Terravita drops huge combinations of dubstep, hardstyle, metal, video games and drum and bass. This Metroid Prime classic should have Samus fans and non-fans swooning. With speedy tempo and deep musical assaults, Terravita songs are not to be taken lightly.
8. Stereo Love - Edward Maya featuring Alicia. Genre: House.
The accordion has never sounded so good. Don't listen if you don't want to be humming this all day.
9.  Long Live A$AP - A$AP Rocky. Genre: Rap.
The first track off of Long.Live.A$AP., this dark cut sets the tone for the gritty, grimy, thoroughly-New York sound that A$AP brings back into the public spotlight. No one has really grabbed this sound since Wu-Tang gave up on it in the early 2000s, and it's almost refreshing to hear again. Hardcore New York rap might be back, carried by the third hottest up and coming rapper in the game (after Kendrick and Macklemore, of course)!
10. Meditate - Ces Cru. Genre: Rap.
Someone once asked me where my random rap songs come from. Well, every Tuesday, when iTunes uploads new music, I scan the hip-hop/rap page looking for artists that are getting a little shine, but aren't the hottest things around. I can find those on the radio. I recently ran across Ces Cru and was awfully impressed, especially with Meditate. Give it a shot, you just might like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qp3__MFcg_s
